Water-Based Paint

Most solvent-based (oil based paints) contain significant levels of chemical solvents that evaporate during the application and drying of the paint releasing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere, having a detrimental impact on the environment. In the case of paints, evaporation is greatest during and right after application, but continues at lower levels for months.

These solvents are responsible for the strong odor noticeable in buildings that have been freshly painted and are potentially hazardous for both human health and the environment.

The line of paints we use are manufactured by Benjamin Moore and are either low VOC or Zero VOC. These paints have LEED accreditation and some also come with Benjamin Moore’s Green Promise designation, making them safer for your family and the environment without compromising their performance.
